All Day SUMMER STEAM Camp (2024)

The All Day STEAM Camps give students the opportunity to attend both the morning and afternoon camps. Mornings start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:00. We will have your child eat a packed lunch brought from home with us between 12:00 and 1:00, supervised free time. The afternoon sessions start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. For the All Day STEAM Camp, you will receive a reduction in the rate of signing up for two camps. Camps are generally for children 8 and older, but some camps are great for kids as young as 6 (painting/drawing, jewelry making, ceramics, design challenge, astronomy and weather/climate). We will differentiate for students of all ages for these camps! If you need to drop your child off earlier than 8 or pick them up later than 5, please let us know your needs! We've decided to also offer a camp for our younger kiddoes (3 to 6) the weeks of July 15-19 AND August 12-16, 2024

Birthday Party

Ignite The Mind is now offering our venue for birthday parties! There are three options: you may just rent out our space per hour, have us also provide a fun STEAM activity per your theme, or choose an all-in option, where all you do is make the decisions, and we do everything for you. You must sign up and pay for your party to reserve a space/time. While we will do everything we can to make sure you can use our space during the date/time you want, we cannot guarantee it if it is already reserved. If we cannot agree on a time/date, we will refund 95% of your fee (5% being held for credit card fees that we pay).

FREE Evening Out

Summer Evenings Out are now set for Saturday evenings (June 22nd and July 20th). Sign up to save your spot! Let us take care of your little ones while you have an enjoyable evening. Just drop you kids off after school, and we'll take exceptionally good care of them. We'll start at 4:00 p.m. (or earlier if you need it) and please pick them up by 9:00 p.m. We'll provide pizza (cheese and pepperoni) and Capri Sun drinks. If you'd like something else, please feel free to bring it. We'll watch a movie on the big screen and do an art project. Two adults will support a maximum of 15 kids. If you are inclined to provide a donation toward our costs for crafts and food, we are happy to accept it, but it is NOT required. For our new families, our address is 11485 Old Hwy 285 Frontage Road, Conifer (the same building as Conifer Gutter).

FUN Fridays By The Month

Fun Fridays are designed to be an every-week class for Platte Canyon kids who do not have school on Fridays and homeschool kids. By coming each week, your child will build capacity and confidence in academic subjects (reading, math, science, spelling and writing). We will also offer creative projects in the arts, such as painting, drawing, ceramics and other crafts and games to improve thinking, timing and athletic skills. The day will be full of fun ways to get caught up in these skills and accelerate skills beyond current grade levels, as well as have some fun with the arts. There will also be time allotted to get all homework completed with the support of licensed teachers so that all students can have a worry-free weekend! If you can come each week, your child will get the maximum instruction to get caught up or accelerate their skills. Bring a water bottle, snack and lunch (we cannot provide food to students).

Homeschool STEM Enrichment – High School LIFE SCIENCE

This class is for any high school student who wants to learn biology from a licensed secondary education teacher who knows all of the cool things these subjects offer, as well as how to teach them to make them really fun and engaging. We can even apply grades to the student's work to report on transcripts if that is requested. Students will choose a particular phenomenon of interest which covers a great deal of the requirements of the Colorado Academic Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. High school Life Science covers Biology.

We will ensure that all student learn, practice and use CAS (Colorado Academic Standards) in science and math. Students will choose a particular phenomenon of interest which covers a great deal of the requirements of the Colorado Academic Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.

We'll start with Physical Science, discovering the unique properties of solids and liquids, and understand common properties, forms, and changes in matter and energy.

Then, we'll explore Life Science how offspring of different animals have characteristics that are similar to but not exactly like their parents’ characteristics and how an organism is a living thing that has physical characteristics to help it survive

Lastly, we'll look at Earth Systems and how Earth’s materials can be compared and classified based on their properties, as well as discover the processes and interactions of Earth's systems and the structure and dynamics of Earth and other objects in space
