Chemistry is so challenging, but is truly the most interesting STEM topic once students understand and feel confident with it. Michelle will support these sessions, as she has taught IB Chemistry and has a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from the College of Veterinary Medicine. These sessions will answer questions from your classes, help you with writing quality answers to questions as well as doing the math involved, which can be extensive. We will provide homework help to get that done early in the weekend so that you can have fun the rest of it. Challenging Chemistry concepts include stoichiometry, organics (nomenclature, physical and chemical properties, biological macromolecules), isomers, polymerization, redox and much more. You can get the support you need either in person or virtually, depending on your needs and location. -
Most students are either behind or struggling in Math throughout the country due to pandemic. If this is the case for your child, this is what you need. We have designed these classes to both develop confidence and build standards-based skills using unique strategies, particularly for our kinetic and visual learners. If you want your child to excel beyond grade level, we can support that work as well. We can offer both in person and virtual classes, depending upon your needs. -
Michelle is providing this instruction. She went through many hours of training with Princeton Review to be able to offer effective and comprehensive instruction on this important gateway exam. She's taught this course to individuals and school-wide while teaching in Denver, so is highly qualified to instruct your child to do their best.If your school is moving to a digital test, the test will be different this year. Our class includes a pretest to determine baseline with specific strategies to maximize scores, test-taking strategies that statistically work, English grammar/common misconceptions, Reading Science/Social Studies text strategies that work, Math test strategies and content practice drills, post test to see growth and areas where students can study concepts for understanding outside of class. -
This year, we've added robotics to our camps. Robotics is the wave of the future. We'll learn about the engineering involved in building machines that move on their own. We'll build a solar space rover or design and build our own robot so the kids can take it home and play with it forever! -

Veterinary medicine is an incredibly popular science for young people. It is also pretty challenging, as the patients veterinarians treat cannot tell them what hurts or how they feel. In this camp, students will learn about hematology (study of blood), parasitology (common skin, fecal and blood parasites) and microbiology (microscopic organisms which cause diseases). They will do case studies on small and large animal diagnosis of diseases based on symptoms and winners of the case-study contests will win prizes. They will also practice dissection, identifying muscle tissue, veins, arteries, bones and skin. Lastly, they will practice suturing techniques. Their drawings and case studies will be added to their notebook to use as a reference for their future studies. -
Plants are the foundation of our survival, as a food source for us and for the animals we can eat, and as medicines to reduce pain, calm nerves, reduce inflammation, soothe a sunburn, and many more. Some plants can also cause severe health issues to humans and our pets. Students will build a medicinal plant book, include pictures or pressed specimens, identify their common and scientific names as well as their uses to heal or harm. At the end of the week, they get to keep their book, and hopefully add to it. -
Ignite The Mind is now offering our venue for birthday parties! There are three options: you may just rent out our space per hour, have us also provide a fun STEAM activity per your theme, or choose an all-in option, where all you do is make the decisions, and we do everything for you. You must sign up and pay for your party to reserve a space/time. While we will do everything we can to make sure you can use our space during the date/time you want, we cannot guarantee it if it is already reserved. If we cannot agree on a time/date, we will refund 95% of your fee (5% being held for credit card fees that we pay). -
This class is for any student generally in grades 2 and 3 who wants to learn physical, life or Earth sciences from a licensed teacher who knows all of the cool things these subjects offer, as well as how to teach them to make them really fun and engaging. We will ensure that all student learn, practice and use CAS (Colorado Academic Standards) in science and math. Students will choose a particular phenomenon of interest which covers a great deal of the requirements of the Colorado Academic Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.- We'll start with Physical Science, discovering the unique properties of solids and liquids, and understand common properties, forms, and changes in matter and energy.
- Then, we'll explore Life Science how offspring of different animals have characteristics that are similar to but not exactly like their parents’ characteristics and how an organism is a living thing that has physical characteristics to help it survive
- Lastly, we'll look at Earth Systems and how Earth’s materials can be compared and classified based on their properties, as well as discover the processes and interactions of Earth's systems and the structure and dynamics of Earth and other objects in space

This class will excite kids who want to figure out how stuff works, build it and redesign it to make it even better. The design challenges are generally related to engineering designs, but can also be chemical, biological or mechanical. Students will decide on their design challenge and then construct their “machine” by mid-week. Then, they will test and redesign their project before taking it home. -
Want to move forward in your career or have always wanted to get your high school diploma? This is the class for you! It is for adults who did not receive a high school diploma or high school students looking for another way to graduate. We will provide specific support for the GED and HiSET exams, including practice tests and individual areas of need to pass the test. We will help you sign up for the test, and support you throughout the process even after our formal sessions are completed. -
Biology is all about the language of science, what things are called and how they work. We offer individual or group 1-hour sessions to help you child achieve their highest grade possible, and more importantly, to help them believe in their abilities to understand something challenging. They become leaders in their classes, helping others understand ecology, ecosystems, evolution, genetics, physiology, molecular biology and more. Tutoring for high school students is can be done individually or in small groups. Michelle will lead these session, as she has taught Biology, IB Biology and has a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. We will answer questions from your classes, help you with writing quality answers to questions as well as doing the math involved.
